His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II ascended the throne of the Golden Stool, 25 years ago. This Silver Jubilee celebration is a year long. He is the 66th Paramount Chief of the Asante Kingdom. He was ens-tooled after the death of Otumfuo Opoku Ware II in the year 1999, 25th Feb.
The occasion met the commemorating 150 years of the Segranti war, where the Manhyia Palace was seen as the sea of people in black. Nananom dressed in their beautiful black Kuntunkuni cloths. Why, black. Because the Segranti war, among other wars such as the battle of Ensamanko, battle of Fayiase was classified as a sad event which, most precious minerals and items belonging the people of Asantes made of Gold was taken away by the British.
Akwasidea is marked every 40 days and Awukudea is also marked every two weeks Wednesday before Akwasidea. They are important Festive days and are celebrated.

31st March, 2024 is Akwasidea, but will be marked by every Chief in his or her Towns and village with their people, this day has met Easter Sunday and it's great as such.
!5th April, 2024, On this day, The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall will be open.
16th April 2024, The honoring of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II by the 3 major universities in Ghana, namely Kwame Nkrumah University, University of Ghana, Legon and the University of Cape Coast for Honorary Degree.
22nd April, 2024, is Queen Mother's Day- A day set aside for women.This tells us that in the Asante Kiidom, women are not left out in everything. They will showcase their beautiful Kente Cloths, their home foods, home drinks, home games etc. There will be a lot to eat and drink
24th April, 2024, which is Awukudea will hosts people and culture of foreign lands, other tribes in Ghana will exhibit their culture including drumming and dancing.
25th April, 2024 will mark the Eve of the en-stoolment, there will be fireworks, decorations and music by renowned Ghanaian musicians and their friends from different counties.
27th April, 2024, The King's concert too will be in place.
28TH, APRIL 2024- THE GRAND DURBAR OF CHIEFS AND PEOPLE AT THE MANHYIA PALACE.
King Prempeh the 1st, became an Anglican church woshipper formerly known as the E.C.M., when he was in Exile. He continued worshiping at the church after his return, so the church was from then referred to as the church for the Royals.
4th May 2024 - Commemorative stamps and post cards of his Majesty, the King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will be unveiled by the Ghana Post.
12th May, 2024- It's International Day. A day set aside for the international Community with come and greet the King at the Manhyia Palace
