The Story of Anas

The controversial African Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas made the people of the Garden City, I mean Kumasi to also watch the investigative video dubbed 'Number 12'(Number xii), where some important officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), referees and their President Mr Kwasi Nyantakyi were found collecting bribes.

 People who watched the documentary felt ashamed and sad. Ashamed, because the youth are there with no work to do and people troop to stadiums to watch the match of their favorite teams,just to realize it is a fixed match.

 People felt sad, because they have put all their trust in their leaders, for them just to betray the people. They don't think about the majority of the people but their pockets and goat that will make the aroma of their soup smile good. This is a shame to them all.

 People were shocked to see the video, others could not stand, but to dish out insults. They argued, if really these people were going to be punish or set scout free.

 Lastly, another school of thought also argued that, why was it that, Anas made referees to win in favor of  Accra Hearts of Oak but not Kumasi Asante Kotoko?

This is a big question mark??????????????

THE MOST COMMON EATEN FOODS IN GHANA

 (YOU AND YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL DISH)

There are so many uncountable local dishes in Ghana. But here our interest is the commonly eaten on the streets of Ghana. Every one has his/her own favorite food. Some people like those with soup, whiles others like those with stew. Due to the fact that, the sort alcohol people take and the lots smoke that goes around need heavy food as replacement. By taking heavy food I mean, food that can be heavy on you, so that you become satisfy and can put you to sleep. Let’s see some of our local dishes. Starting from the one I like most.

1.    Emo –Tuo

This is made from boiled rice. It’s grind-ed to become soft, not to soft to be seen as rice water or something but made into balls. These are eaten with the soup of your choice. That brings in the issue of favorite.  Some people do like to eat it with groundnut soup, others to prefer eating it with palm nut soap. I would not eat it with any other soup other than palm nut soup. I don’t know about yours too.

2.    Fufuo

This local food is one of the most commonly eaten foods. Fufu, as others may call it. This is made from boiled cassava and boiled plantain. They are pound separately to the point that you feel it is ok, then they mix them together in a mortar whiles the pastel is used to pound until both are mixed accurately and edible. Now comes the turn of the soup to eat with. The favorite aspect of the food now comes in. You can eat fufuo/fufu with different types of soup. Deepening on what you like. The soup can light soap with goat, mutton, beef, fish, and Palm nut soup with crabs, snails or any game meat of your choice and not forgetting salted fish. It usually tastes good if you have boiled okro on top of the soup

3.    Banku

Another common eaten local food is Banku. This is one of heavy foods people do like most. It is made from maize dough. It needs hot water. So after boiling your water, the cassava dough is then put into the boiled water. Then it is mixed up with a special mortar for making banku. It is then put into balls. This came be eaten with okro stew or soup. You can also eat with palm nut soup or groundnut soup. It deepens on your favorite

4.    Abete3/Face the wall

This is almost the same as preparing banku. But here, it is cassava dough instead of maize dough. It can be eaten with your favorite soups such as ground nut soup, palm nut soup or if critical, some do eat it with light soup and see to it that there is plenty of okro in it. But I do not really know why they call it face the wall. Any idea why?

5.    Tuo-Zaafi

Tuo –Zaafi which also known in local language as De3 3hu. This means something that boils over and over again. You eat this with the boiled okro soup and a stew prepared from salmon fish, awaway3 and other ingredients. It goes with meat of all types such cow lungs, liver and others.

6.    Dokono/Kenkey

This is simply, maize dough fitted and package in a special leaf. It is also made into round balls before they boil it. You can eat it with shito, red pepper, slice onions and tomatoes. Having red fish and kahoro/wele will make you bite your finger.

7.    Ampesi ne Kontomire

This is simply boiled small plantains or yams. It can be cocoyam or cassava at a point in time. You go on to boil and mash your kontomire. You then pour your heated palm nut oil with onions in them on the kontomire stew. With your cooked salted fish on it, you are ready to go.

8.    Waakye

Lastly, this is Waakye.It one of the most common eaten local food found on the streets everywhere. This made from local red rice with beans. Not forgetting your gari, salad leaves, macroni, beans, and carrots. You then prepare your stew with meats, wele and any other type of fish. For instance, red fish

KUMASI CITY MALL (Y3N SO, Y3DE3 NIE OHHH!!!)

The most ultra modern and world class city mall has now safely arrive and is now opened in the Garden City of Ghana, Kumasi to be precise. At long last, the much awaited and long talk Mall is here in Oseikrom.

Although, it’s not long though but the enthusiasm and the patronage from people of all walks of life is overwhelming and welcoming. The joy and smiles on the face of people as they go window shopping is great, for those who have enough in their pocket do enjoy shopping.

If you have a new catchy by your side, the chilling becomes huge and enormous. For those of you who have a chase a lady for a long time, if it happens that she agrees finally, then that is the right place to hang up with her. But a piece of advice, if the girl or the guy happens to belong to someone else, then you have to be careful, because there could be a clash. Because all heads and roads lead to the Game, Shoprite and other shops, together they are known as the Kumasi City Shopping Mall.

The kids are also not left out; they have train riding, face paining, castle jumping, ice cream, pop corn section and others. There are varieties of reading and writing books, crayon, clay color pencils and other school materials parents can buy for their wards. 

Parents can also get jewelries, cloths and clothing, perfumes, dressing accessories like beads, bangles, slippers, shoes, bags, wigs, ribbings and ribbons, watches and under wears.

There are the huge underground and open space car parks. You would not get a problem of parking if you are using a car. Not matter how long you would want to spend over there, your car would be well kept. Do not expect scratch or a bumper punch on your car.

One funny thing is that, if you do not take care and manage to use the excavator, you can fall. For those of us who have not use the excavator before. A lady and the son is captured on camera when they fell.  This went viral on social media within the shortest possible time. The best thing to do is to stay on the excavator for it to move by its self either by taking up or downstairs.

Talking about security is the best. There are CCTV cameras all around. Of course is hiding. Security guards are at vantage points. Don’t be secured, they are not there to harm you, dude. They protect the cars and the people around from the bad nuts of the people.

Lastly, there are ladies and gentle serving as ushers of the Kumasi Mall. They are very attractive and welcoming. You can ask them for help, directions and explanations. There is also the front desk too. You can redeem your gift if you shop up to a certain amount of money.

There is also the section where live jazz band is being played, that is where I usually hangs and have my photo shoots. Awesome!!!
